Photographs created by Rebecca Beede as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. "Morning again. The rest of the pictures I have are from the local tent cities that have started to pop up around my neighborhood. I work in social services and am a big advocate on assisting homeless individuals during this time. With more and more non-profits closing their doors, and shelters filling up, individuals have no where to go other than the streets. No protection from the elements, no face masks, limited information about Covid-19 and unable to social distance properly. It'll be hard to contain Covid-19 in Austin when homeless camps get bigger but there isn't a way for them to properly quarantine themselves, sick or not."

[“We are no different than you, we are people too!!”

From Beede "The second picture (my personal favorite) was taken at the corner of 183 and Burnet rd where many tent cities have popped up. It's a reminder to society that homeless people are people too, and must not be forgotten during the pandemic. They are people too and a humble reminder that during this time and hardship in Austin, that could be our parent, a friend, a relative or even us at any point."

[Empty Goodwill parking lot]

From Beede "My name is Rebecca Beede and I submitted only 2 pictures so far. I have more but I was unable to load all of them. The first picture was of Goodwill and an empty parking lot. I took it to represent how fast companies were closing their doors and letting their employees go. Goodwill was one of the first companies in Austin (that was considered essential) to start laying off and furloughing their employees."
