Rescuers retrieve the body of one of the confirmed six victims of flash flooding in the area, his car swept from the road. Over six inches of rain in a short time brought flooding in several parts of the city.

One of over 500 new cars destroyed by flash flooding 5/25 is winched out of Shoal Creek. The creek was sent out of its banks 5/25 by some 7 inches of rain, causing extensive residential and business damage.

Firemen wade through mud and dank, jungle-like foliage to bring out one of the six victims of flash flooding in the area. Most of the victims were swept away in their cars attempting to pass through high water. Rains of over 6 inches caused the flooding.

An employee of Whole Foods Market on Lamar Boulevard surveys the damage caused by a flash flood on May 24, 1981. Items have been removed from the store in an effort to identify what is salvagable and to clean out a layer of mud left inside the building.
