A man walks in the snow and carries an umbrella to protect his uncovered head from snow flurries in front of the Texas Ranger equestrian statue near the Texas state capitol building in the 1980s. Light snow covers the sidewalk and ground.

Congress Avenue covered in snow with a veiw of the capitol building. The street is slushy with dirty snow that hasn't been plowed, and cars parked along the side of the streets are covered in snow.

Jackie Gerber, of Austin, tries skiing behind a car on the first snowfall in several years. About 3-4 inches fell in the area, causing the clcosing of schools and many businesses. The modified water skies used by Gerber didn't do too well on the dry snow.

The Greek Revival Style mansion, located at 1010 Colorado Street, was built by Abner Cook in 1855 and has been continuously occupied since 1856. It was designated a Texas historic landmark in 1962 and national historic landmark in 1970.
