The Austin Texas Youth Zine (ATXyz) was a project of Austin Public Library Summer Teen Volunteers during June and July of 2020. The Teen Editors decided quickly that they wanted to submit their work to the Austin History Center's COVID-19 files, and made that a central part of their first issue of the newly-formed "ATX Youth Zine" or "ATXyz." The project aimed to reach teens from Central Texas to encourage them to submit their work to the zine from their time in Quarantine, with the knowledge that their submissions would be shared with the Austin History Center. The PDF eZine is the culmination of their summer's work: a snapshot of a summer of youth during COVID-19, quarantine, and a period of social unrest. Teen Editors and APL Volunteers: Nora Boumaraf, Samya Chauchan,Justin Gao, Siyona Jain, Maya Kini, Estella Zhao. Coordinating APL Staff: Kathleen Houlihan, Librarian III; Alanna Graves, Librarian II; Heath Rezabek, Managing Librarian.
